Regarding quality of Custom search engine results, I have only done a quick test today, clicking on 'Document types' in the concept map which uses the 'different types of business document' search string, to search links in the Custom search Engine, produces the following top 10 results:
1. Docstoc.com – free legal forms and business templates 2. Word processor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 3. XML: Definition from Answers.com 4. Apple - iWork - Pages 5. flatbed scanner: Definition from Answers.com 6. Document Types and Services 7. policy: Definition, Synonyms from Answers.com 8. Different Types of Plans for Businesses - Business Plan Help ... 9. Chapter 30 -- Document Types for Business 10. file format: Information from Answers.com Using the same search string with general non-customised Google produces the following top 10: 1. Essay: There are many different types of documents. 2. Different Types of Plans for Businesses - Business Plan Help ... 3. Chapter 30 -- Document Types for Business 4. Workplace Writers - The OWL at Purdue 5. types of business documents - RE: Finally, what if namespaces ... 6. Document Types and Services 7. Utilizing The Different Types of Corporate Documents 8. the four types of business proposals - docstoc 9. Business Documents Edited: reports, letters, financial statements 10. Spanish Translation of all types of Business Documents Based on these results, the non-customised results 'currently' produce more links that are useful to the learner.

I have updated my document but, for the life of me, I can't get slideshare to effect the change. It's still showing my original document even though it has acknowledged my upload as a replacement file. I performed that task at 12:00 Nov 6 - and still nothing.

OK, if I understand things correctly, I kick off by suggesting four document types.
I am not terribly confident that I HAVE understood. The cognitive map took a little working out. One thing I realised is that I am used to working left to right, so I guess I expected the ‘design considerations’ to be positioned on the left as a precursor to the ‘selection of an appropriate design’. So, if we are in agreement, my four documents will be: a CV, a product catalogue detailing SNS software, a user guide for synchronising twitter with your Facebook status, and a personal journal (letter) chronicling my experience here.

Another useful widget offered by Wetpaint is its RSS feed. At first, I was disappointed with the result of this bcause my browser (IE6) simply showed it as a link. But when I changed browser, is displayed an inline, neat list of the web pages I had tagged as 'word-processing' using delicious.

This was a new idea for me -very handy! Took me a while to work out what to do - I created my own search engine in the process but can now see how to ammend mine and yours! Will try to make use of this a bit more next week

Hi Tony
Just to let you know Ive arrived (obviously!). Ive been thinking about what type of document to create that would test the process for an 'expert' learner. Im going to start with simple documents that contain drop down menus for learners to choose the correct answers to each question. This will use features that most lecturers dont normally use and particularly with Office 2007 it should be an interesting exercise. I hope that related tools and ideas will 'aapear' and suggest additional functionality that can be used - hope this is OK. Regards Dave
